Four Democrats joined Republicans to defeat the War Powers Act resolution in the US House of Representatives.
The resolution would have directed the president to remove United States Armed Forces from “unauthorized hostilities in the Islamic Republic of Iran."
Republican Rep. Thomas Massie of Kentucky, a sponsor, and Republican Rep. Warren Davidson of Ohio joined Democrats to support the War Powers Act vote.
Democratic Reps. Greg Landsman of Ohio, Jared Golden of Maine, Henry Cuellar of Texas and Juan Vargas of California voted with all the rest of the Republicans to defeat the War Powers Act vote in the house. Had these Democrats voted with the party, the resolution would have passed 216-215.
