Once upon a time, Darkest Africa was the region where no Europeans had ever been. Racist disparagement of the peoples of Africa continues, ignoring the vast and increasing progress nearly everywhere there, and on every point of development: renewable energy, eliminating dread diseases, communications, education, business, reducing oppression of every minority, and much more.
Africa Records Its Fastest Year of Solar Growth
Africa installed approximately 4.5 GW of new solar PV capacity in 2025, representing a 54% year-on-year increase and marking a sharp acceleration in annual deployment across regions.
Africa is effectively running two energy transitions at the same time:
utility-scale projects funded mainly by public and development finance, and rapidly expanding privately financed rooftop and distributed systems.
8 countries have installed 100MW or above, against 4 last year, essentially doubling the number of countries. Additionally, two countries were closing in on this threshold -(Ghana and Chad). This confirms the trend of diversification

Stockholm's electric ferry
x
🇸🇪 Stockholm is using a new #electric “flying” #ferry that glides above the water to cut down travel time and pollution. ⚡️ It’s much quieter, faster and slashes #emissions by about 94% compared to old diesel boats, making water travel cleaner and more comfortable for commuters. 🚢

Just plug solar panels attached to a microinverter into any household outlet, place the panels outside on a patio or balcony. You can generate enough power to offset around 15% to 20% of your energy usage. Gear costs a few hundred dollars & can be set up almost anywhere.

Sulfur could power the next generation of EV batteries 🧪 New research, led by UChicago PME Prof. Shirley Meng with postdoctoral researcher Chen-Jui (Ben) Huang, shows that unlocking sulfur’s potential may not require new materials, just smarter ways of assembly.

Remember that there are no licensed and approved SMR designs. This proposes a change to that in 2028. Watch this space.
The Innovative Small Modular Reactor (i-SMR) - being developed by a consortium led by Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power (KHNP) and the Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute (KAERI) - is an integrated pressurised water reactor type nuclear power plant with an electrical output of 170 MW for both domestic use and export. It is being developed according to a development roadmap, with the goal of completing the standard design by the end of 2025 and obtaining standard design approval in 2028. According to KHNP, it requires one-third of the investment, and can be constructed in half the time compared with large reactors.
Standard design approval can be applied for when repeating the construction of nuclear power plants of the same design, and the information approved through this approval does not need to be included when later applying for a construction/operation permit. The standard design approval is valid for 10 years.
The Nuclear Safety and Security Commission (NSSC) said it received the application for standard design approval for the i-SMR on 27 February.

Build more solar and wind power and you rely less on oil imports!
Not they should not repair the pipeline, it is Putin's moneybag and not their problem that European countries don't invest in alternative exporters or green energy.
