The Oregon Military Museum in Clackamas, Oregon, presents Oregon’s military history. According to the Museum:
“From the Indian Wars to modern-day conflicts, the Oregon Military Museum offers a unique opportunity to learn and be inspired by the bravery and sacrifice of the people who have contributed to the rich tapestry of Oregon’s military history.”
One of the Museum’s exhibits features a 1963 T114 Personnel Carrier. According to the Museum:
“The T114 emerged as a prototype for a lightweight armored command and reconnaissance vehicle during the Vietnam War. Designers tested both wheeled and tracked versions, with the tracked model becoming standardized as the M114. The lightweight amphibious vehicle featured a low-profile silhouette and round end door access. Despite its innovative design, including a unique prismed-glass turret base for perimeter viewing, the three-crew vehicle proved unsuccessful in the field.”
The T114 was built by the Cadillac Motor Car Division of General Motors and is powered by V8 Chevrolet engine. It has a range of 275 miles and a top speed of 34 mph.
