Daily Kos Staff informed us that this topic has already been discussed among the staff, and they shared an excerpt from the upcoming revised community guidelines that discusses the use of AI for both visual and written content.

For me, this community is all about human experience, expression, and thought.
Simply put, I come to Daily Kos to converse with, listen to, and learn from other humans. I do not visit here to read output from Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, or any other AI tool; if I wanted to read such things, I would write my own prompts and query those tools myself.
As one who has been paid for my services as writer, editor, and reviewer alike, I have no desire to support the use of AI tools to either supplant human talents/abilities or inhibit further development of the same.
Therefore, I propose an addition to the Daily Kos community guidelines, AKA Rules of the Road.
EITHER:
a) A wholesale ban on publishing AI-generated content as one’s own work:

24. Publish AI-generated content, whether text or visual, to Daily Kos as your own work. Daily Kos exists as both a website and a human community. We are here to consider and discuss the written and/or visual efforts of other people, not the output of artificial intelligence (AI) tools. Don’t publish AI-generated visual or written materials as your own work. AI-generated content from other sources may be cited/quoted for purposes of discussion (with the same limitations as are applied to other external sources) but must be identified as such.
OR:
b) A requirement that any post/comment containing AI-generated content be labeled as such:

24. Post AI-generated content, whether text or visual, to Daily Kos without clearly identifying it as such. Daily Kos exists as both a website and a human community. Many of us are here to consider and discuss the written and/or visual efforts of other people and do not wish to support the use of artificial intelligence (AI) tools in this community. Any story or comment containing AI-generated materials you generated must begin with a clear statement noting the use of those AI tools. If you are citing/quoting other AI-generated content for purposes of discussion or critique, it must be identified as such.
