Here on planet Earth, we watch planet MAGA with a sense of wonderment-dread. It is often said by liberals that dumb people voted for President Trump. Low information voters have been with us since they praised George Washington for tossing a coin across the Potomac. People who vote because a TV ad or bumper sticker told them to are a lot less dangerous than the so-called smart people who have joined the cult. For all the Jennifer Rubin(s) and Rick Wilson(s) who saw the train derailing early, the Peggy Noonan(s) and Scott Jennings still make the TV rounds to defend the indefensible. It is people with that sort of intellectual heft who will be the downfall of democracy, not the guy who changes out your carburetor or uses a pipe wrench on the J-bend under your sink. It was Jennings who ran to CNN’s microphones to rename the Epstein Files the Clinton Files when pictures surfaced of the former president in a pool with Ghislaine Maxwell.
Now that information has come to light from a then-13-year-old girl who was questioned four times in 2019, and the FBI used her credible information to help convict Maxwell and Epstein, Jennings is now oddly silent on the subject. Her interview with the FBI under threat of perjury stated that Mr. Trump punched her in the head after a forcible failed sexual act. Noonan, a well-respected author who was once a speech writer for Ronald Reagan, has both castigated and praised President Trump. In a February 2025 speech before students at Oklahoma University, she summed up his presidency, saying, “It seems to be working,” Noonan said. “Maybe you have to be a bunch of wild and crazy guys to get something done.” I am alarmed, that I believe, along with a significant portion of the American electorate, that the President of the United States would start a war to distract from his alleged sexual perversions, but this is where we are. Even Switzerland, whose topography, if you look up neutrality in the dictionary, would be pictured, has condemned the U.S.
In a Reuters story, they reported that Swiss Defense Minister Martin Pfister said in an interview with Sonntags Zeitung, “The Federal Council (the Swiss cabinet) is of the opinion that the attack on Iran constitutes a violation of international law,” Pfister said.
Who do you trust…
Is it the American President who claims, despite all reports, that it was the Iranians, not the Americans, who bombed Shajarah Tayyebeh elementary girls’ school? The undignified appearance of the President—wearing his golfing cap—at the dignified return of remains of six of the seven servicemembers to die so far in the war was just the latest indignity foisted upon the grieving families and the American people. To add insult to injury, FOX News has apologized for inadvertently using the wrong footage (twice) that showed Mr. Trump hatless from a previous dignified transfer return of the dead, blaming a staffer. Coincidentally, it was just a week ago that the administration accused the press of prominently acknowledging the deaths of our soldiers to make the president look bad.
So, the everyman who is wondering why prices did not go down on day one, or the war in Ukraine did not end in 24 hours, or why America First has given way to America First in War. Now that there is a real question whether the attack on Iran labeled Epic Fury is really to cover for Epic Epstein. While unverified reports are denying the small amount of reported U.S. casualties, the so-called smart people who can afford to fill their cars, not worry about their jobs, and can buy food are telling the rest of MAGA; Chill, the cake is on the way.
