I’m still exploring my “new” truck. I like having the flashing strobe amber lights (on the cab), they are real attention getters. They come in handy when I stop to pick up road debris and I’m in the middle of the road and out of the truck, adds greatly to my personal safety.
So, this pickup has a cover on the bed that opens from ether side length wise to the box. I’m not sure what the previous owner hauled in it but the orange paint spots in the bed are a clue.
The accessories the vehicle came with are nice. It has amber strobes to “compliment” the 4-ways, it has a back-up alarm so people know it’s going to move and it has a 110v inverter mounted under a shelf in the cab. The amber strobes are good “attention getters” and I’m thinking I can rig it to be a proper protest asset. Hang my signs on both sides and turn on those strobes, of course I need a place to park it for the demonstration!
You know, the box cover warns about driving with the lids up, but I’m thinking that a parade isn’t moving at a speed where wind would be a problem like in normal traffic, and I know better than to run down the highway at 80 like that!
I’m still trying to figure out how to leave the signs attached to the two lids and still be able to close them. It would be nice to instantly display the signs just by opening the lids. Well, that’s the goal anyway. This sign was just taped into place, it kind of works but could use some improvements.
Excuse the mud, got 3 tenths of an inch of rain/heavy wet snow and my 4 miles to pavement is like this.
I am open to suggestions for this setup and hopefully, I’ll be at many more local protests. Here is a protest song that I like, I hope you enjoy it too.
