As the insane orange clown and his evil minions push the world ever closer toward catastrophe and his deteriorating metal fitness becomes more obvious by the day, it’s time for Democrats to put direct pressure on Republicans to ACT.
ALL Democratic members of the US House and Senate should be at the US Capitol right now, together en masse. (Yes, they’re out of session, but they can still gather). Bring as many journalists as possible. Tell the world that they’re ready to take action to stop this insanity, but they can’t do it alone — they need some Republicans to join them. Not even all Republicans, only a few. A handful that are willing to put their country and the safety of the American people first. Will any of them show up and do the right thing? Doubtful. But they shouldn’t be allowed to hide behind a congressional recess.
Democrats should be in the Capitol, making it crystal clear that every moment that goes by without GOP response, and everything that happens in their absence is ON THEM. Correct and push back against the “Congress is worthless” narrative and put the focus where it belongs — on Republicans. Show the American people and the world that Democrats didn’t just give up and go home, and didn’t just book media appearances with their preferred personalities and podcasters. Show us all that you’re ready to act TODAY, if only the Republicans would have the responsibility to join you. Rise to the urgency of the moment. The midterms are looking good, but we don’t have time to wait that long. Time for action!
