kismet diaried last night about the unbelievable turnout last night for the Charlotte, NC Obama Campaign Headquarters opening. Estimates are anywhere from 400 to 600 people showed up! Hi kismet:-) And I wanted to share my experience as well as my pictures. From now until April 11, the only focus is VOTER REGISTRATION. We'll be at grcoery stores, big box retailers, Churches etc to get every possible person registered who wants to vote in the Democratic primary. And without further ado, here's the pics!! I'll keep diarying about campaigning in Charlotte as the weeks go by. This is definitely Obama Country!.

The shot below is the front of the Campaign Headquarters:

When my mother and I arrived about 5:45 pm, the scene inside looked like this:

By 6:15 pm, it looked like this! Please forgive the angle, I'm vertically challenged and I was at the back of the room :-)

By 6:30, we were packed inside like sweaty sardines.

Mom decides to jump up on a chair to see the goings on :-)

Harry Taylor was there. He's running for 9th District against entrenched Republican Sue Myrick. You will probably remember Harry for standing up in a Charlotte "Town Hall" meeting with Bush and telling it like it is.

The crowd was spilling outside the building!
