Does Bill Clinton live in an alternate universe? I mean really. Does he honestly think the voters have such short memories? This comes from First Read

ST. MARY'S, PA -- Bill Clinton has been talking all day about how great he thought last night's debate was. At his most recent stop, he pushed back at some of the complaints coming from the Obama campaign, saying his wife didn't whine when she took some hits.

"[Obama staffers] were saying, 'Oh this is so negative, why are they doing this.' Well, they've been beatin' up on her for 15 months," Clinton said. "I didn't hear her whining when he said she was untruthful in Iowa, or called her the senator from Punjab... But you know, this is a contact sport. If you don't want to play, keep your uniform off."

Let's take a stroll down memory lane, shall we?

Ohio Debate MSNBC "Why do I always get the first question?" "Should we get Brack a pillow?"

NPR Interview "Double Standard"

"Senator, I want you to react to something that I keep hearing among voters, and increasingly among people who cover the campaign -- both those who are reporters and those who speak about the campaign on television, on radio -- the statement that the only way that Hillary Clinton can win is if she's willing to win ugly," NPR's Michele Norris told Clinton.

"When you hear that," Norris continued, "what does that mean to you? How do you react to that?"

"Well, I don't know what it means because there is no way for Senator Obama to win unless he also obtains a significant number of superdelegates," said Clinton. "I understand that there has been, throughout this campaign, something of a double standard. I accept it; I live with it."

And Bill himself "Whining" about media bias.

Bill Clinton voiced his abiding anger at the media's coverage of him and his wife in Durham, N.H., today, and suggested that media bias will force Clinton to go negative on Barack Obama.
He also expressed his frustration that his wife is perceived by voters as divisive through, he said, no fault of her own.

And just take a look at the Google hits when searching for instances of Hillary "whining". Hillary Clinton has made a cottage industry of playing the victim in this race. And I hardly think Obama was "whining" today:

He told the audience that he intended to let the criticism roll off of him. As he spoke, he made a dramatic gesture of wiping off his sleeves and dusting off his dark suit.

"That’s what you got to do," he said, drawing loud applause from the audience. "That’s what you’ve got to do. But understand this, that is also precisely why I’m running for president – to change that kind of politics."

Hardly a victim, eh?
