Obviously, they couldn't stand being show up by the real deal...

So the two GOP standard bearers will make SEPARATE trips to Iowa, ON THE SAME DAY...  Is his Scheduling Team really that inept?  First it was Off-Shore Drilling, now it'll be touring Iowa, separately like some kinda divorced couple or something...

On separate Thursday trips, the presumptive GOP nominee and the President plan to survey the damage in the Hawkeye State.

McCain: Will fly into Muscatine and tour Columbus Junction.

Bush: Will get briefed on the situation in Cedar Rapids before doing an aerial tour of there and Iowa City, which he’ll visit after the tour.

Ambinder Confirms

Sen. John McCain will tear up his Thursday schedule and head to Columbus Junction, Iowa tomorrow to inspect flood damage. President Bush will also be in Iowa tomorrow, but the two won't cross paths.

So let's be clear here... Not only are both GOP inspecting the results of YEARS of Neglect in basic infrastructure spending dating back to the Reagan administration (those pesky earmarks you know...), they're doing it so obviously separately, you'd almost have to assume it's planned that way, TO MAKE THE STORY ABOUT HOW THEY'RE TRAVELING SEPARATE.

Pathetic.
