From the department of things that make you go hmmmm....

The Obama campaign yesterday announced it will run its "National Priorities" spot — an attack on McCain for his ties to the oil industry — on Gas Station TV, which airs at ... gas stations.

Now — in the sort of flap a campaign welcomes — Obama's camp says Gas Station TV won't air it.

"As Gas Station TV informed the campaign this afternoon, the company will not run ads that are damaging to oil companies," says a release from the Obama campaign.

Gas Station TV claims in defense that it won't run Political advertisements.  Who is GSTV?

Live on 5,500+ screens in over 400 cities including New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Philadelphia, San Francisco, Boston, Dallas, Houston, Atlanta, Detroit, Miami, Tampa, Washington D.C., San Diego, Indianapolis, Raleigh and Bentonville.

Here is the ad in question, which is not favorable in the least to McCain or the current state of Energy policy in the US and offers Obama's solutions to the problem

Not surprising that GSTV would be against advertising for Higher Cafe standards... sorta hits the bottom line.

Here is the GSTV website and if you'd like to send them a word or two about the situation, here is their contact info.  Certainly now we can trust GSTV not to run any political advertising ever right?  Not from McCain or the RNC or anyone... not if they won't run Obama's.  Maybe a reminder or two will do them some good that we're on the look out for double standards.
