I just got back from the last of Gov. Tim Kaine's town hall meetings in Virginia this weekend. The governor was articulate and concise on many of Sen. Obama's policies, most notably the economy, health care and energy. Judging from the questions fielded from the audience, there was some concern that the Obama campaign is not doing enough to address the issues of improving education and countering the false-propaganda-by-innuendo campaign being waged via forwarded e-mail and word of mouth.
I love Gov. Kaine, but he's not VP material, and the way he ran the event tonight showed that he is not looking to operate in that capacity. He's a great surrogate for Sen. Obama and does a very good job of staying on message and getting the key points across. He might serve well in the administration, but at this point I'm putting my money on Joe Biden or Wes Clark for the VP slot.
