I did the whole MSNBC circuit tonight, and loved seeing Rachel Maddow interview Jimmy Carter, but the highlights of the night were actually on Tweety's show for me.

There were two of them.  Follow me below the fold for more.

First of all, Matthews had a segment about Obama doing his travelling salesman number for the stimulus bill, and he had two pundits on to talk with him, in this case Eugene Robinson and Michael Smerconish, who I guess is a conservative talk radio host outside Philadelphia. Near the end of the segment, Matthews asks Smerconish if he supports the stimulus, and he surprisingly, he says that although it's difficult for him to support something like this, he recognizes that the economists say that it has to be done.

Sorry, I guess there is no easy way to embed MSNBC videos.  But it's worth the trip, as it was nice to see a Republican CAN yield to reason.

Secondly, Matthews has Stephen Pearlstein of WaPo on to talk about Geithner's plan and the market' reaction.  Pearlstein expresses himself frankly and hilariously.  I won't try to paraphrase; you'll have to watch for yourself.
