The economy is not President Obama's biggest challenge. It is
how he will handle the memos released about torture. It will define
his posture with his own base. If he is not part of the solution, he
becomes part of the problem with the view upon America.
When one listens to the media they hear all of the President's challenges
with the economy being #1. Some will argue that it is Healthcare reform.
Some talk about getting the troops home from Iraq. Some say Immigration reform. None of this in my opinion is the President's biggest challenge.
President Obama cannot get any of these things done correctly or ethically if this previous administration is not addressed and investigated
appropriately by an independent prosecutor. It is not only the right thing to do but it is the ONLY thing to do. He has no moral ground against
the Limbaugh lovers, the Bushies, and the right wingers who are attacking
his administration and the majority on a daily basis. They can always
fall back on the fact that congress did not prosecute, impeach, nor did this president do anything about Torture and many other abuses including
Abuse of Power and lying us into an unnecessary war. His administration
legitimizes Bush and Company. His administration by trying to move forward is only staying the course. Where have we heard that phrase?
The people who elected Barack Obama and voted dems in power felt the
country was on the wrong track. Not just the economy. They wanted
accountability and someone to uphold the constitution and not pull a Ford/Nixon do over. President Obama will be a one term president no matter what he delivers because some people had rather continue to struggle but with pride and dignity than flurish with things that have been done in our name.
We never authorized War in Iraq. We never authorized torture wiretapping and if this election truly was about We the People, then we want those who did things against the constitution
brought to justice. If not, the political capitol is gone from the days
of running for President.
There is an old saying. If you are not part of the solution, you are part
of the problem. Think about this Mr. President. No matter what you try
and do for the American people, it will be forgotten by election day 2012.
People deep down want justice. Equal Justice. We understand you have a lot on your plate but you need to clean that plate before you start serving up anything, as we are sick in more ways than health. We are
sick with disgust from what we thought we knew to learn it was all true.
We don't need to be served from dirty dishes. We want a clean plate.
A clean slate. We want pride. If those who did this to another human
not brought before a War Crimes Tribunal, then we have truly fallen down
the rabbit hole and this time , your words, the buck stops with you.
