Seriously, we're being outworked by the paid astro-turfers from the murder-by-spreadsheet industry, who use their blood money from the denial of our insurance claims to drum up 150 protestors like these from across the state to show up at Democratic townhall events to yell, intimidate, and harass our Democratic lawmakers and the actual audience of constituents into being scared of passing real health care reform with a strong public option.

One reason why I've asked you to keep on calling Members of Congress every single day and the White House as well is because if they're not hearing from us, then they think that silence from us is a "yes" to whatever they propose in terms of health care legislation. It's why making your views known work, and we've done that consistently over time in this fight for REAL health care reform through our phone calls to Congress and to the White House.

However, the fight has now moved to the streets, and we're not there. These fucking right-wing lunatics, bussed in by the murder-by-spreadsheet industry, are in the streets right now, scaring and harassing our Members of Congress into being scared to pass real health care reform when they come back from vacation.

We NEED you guys to be at these Democratic townhalls to show that we're not silent when it comes to real health care reform!

Like I've said before, it's time to get off the computer and join with us at FDL Action to fight back against these right-wing crazies by showing up at these townhall events.

See that events calendar on the right of the page that's chock-full of events to attend? That's because YOU called, got the information down, and entered it in so that others could attend the event in the district. Don't stop with the phone calls to find out where more townhall events might be in these districts!

  1. Also, if you have a blog, you can embed the calendar onto your own blog so that others can see it and attend the Democratic townhall event on your behalf!
  1. You can search for a meet-up at the Democratic townhall event, and if there isn't a meet-up, you can create one to urge your friends and family to attend.
  1. When you go to the Democratic townhall event with your friends and family, you can follow this list of successful practices in how to counter-act these right-wing loons. What's that saying? Forewarned is forearmed. Or do I have that backwards?
  1. Anyways, don't forget to bring a copy of the FDL Public Option Pledge with you when you go, armed with a camera or a flip video phone, to the Democratic town hall event. Ask them to take the Pledge, and upload the video to Youtube or the pictures to Flickr. You can also send us an e-mail about what happened to action dot firedoglake at gmail dot com.

Most of all, these Democratic lawmakers need to know that the protestors are being paid to astro-turf and that it's the insurance companies organizing these fake protests. They NEED to know that 76% of the public supports a strong public option in health care reform. And if your Democratic lawmaker is a member of the Congressional Progressive Caucus, the Congressional Hispanic Caucus, the Congressional Black Caucus, and the Congressional Asian-Pacific American Caucus, you should URGE them to restore the public option to what it was before the Blue Dogs weakened it in the Energy and Commerce Committee mark-up.

Tell them that they MUST stand up for us Americans on real health care reform, and not to vote for any final legislation that doesn't include a strong, robust public option.

Now, GO OUT IN THE STREETS! Don't let these Democratic lawmakers think that your absence in these townhall meetings means consent to what the Blue Dogs and the murder-by-spreadsheet industry wants with their so-called health reform package.

Just take a step away from the damn computer, and GO to the nearest Democratic townhall event near you, and if you can't go, get someone you know to attend!
