Two teabagger candidates for city council in Columbus, Ohio lost yesterday--Matt Ferris and Alicia Healy. They had targeted incumbent Democrats who had supported a city tax increase last August. The tax was aimed at covering a shortfall caused by the recession.

The 0.5% income tax increase passed on Aug. 4, 52% to 48%. Conservatives bellowed and predicted a backlash against the Democratic councilmembers Tyson, Paley and Miller who supported the increase. Teabaggers rallied around Ferris and Healy.
