”River’s Roses”, Kitsap River’s community quilt

Our fellow Kossack, Timroff, has been ill with cellulitis since Netroots Nation.  He’s been in and out of the hospital since that time and a community quilt has been requested for him.  The good news is that, after this very long ordeal, he is very close to having a clean bill of health – so let this quilt be a celebration of healing for him.

What is a community quilt?  Messages from you are written by me in archival ink on muslin and incorporated into a cheerful patchwork mélange of colorful prints.  Think of it as a group get well card – only softer, warmer, and more durable!  You can find a pictoral diary about these quilts here.

For a simple quilt, I figure about $4 per message (minimum of forty-four messages) to cover the cost of materials and a bit of my time – roughly the cost of a greeting card per message.  If you would like to contribute for Timroff’s quilt, there is a PayPal link here.   But don’t think you have to donate to leave a message.

Please take this opportunity to express your warm feelings for Timroff by leaving a message in the comments below.  Your words will warm his heart as the quilt warms the rest of him -- and he will treasure them always.  Love is an important part of healing and he is almost out of the woods!

Namaste.
