A major event took place yesterday in Phoenix, Arizona -- the engine of America's crazy train.

It was a beautiful morning and a very stimulating crowd.  I can't give you any idea of the sounds, tastes and smells, but I can show you some pics.

In particular, there were some very memorable signs -- always a treat at any political rally.

Sheriff Joe Arpaio is disliked by a great many people here

Of course, Sheriff Joe is not the only unpopular local politician.

While he did not seem unpopular, there were lots of messages to the President

There were messages to politicians in general

And in particular

There were lots of messages about SB1070

There were messages invoking larger themes.

All of these wonderful messages were found around the State Capital building, where you can also find the Great Seal of the State of Arizona.

You can read about the seal.  But somebody is eventually going to have to ask Sheriff Joe and Governor Brewer if they think this guy is...you know, "reasonably suspicious".

UPDATE:  Wow!  The Rec List?  My first time...I...I just want to say that I love you, Kossaks!
