Since when is sacrifice payhing your taxes. To me sacrifice means losing one's health food or shelter. So now let's talk social security. Social security is paid up in full with lots of money saved for the future. The taxes for social secuirty are separate from the general revenue stream.So tell me again why social security must suffer because the general revenue stream is not taking in enough money. Tell me why a fully funded program must be sacrificed? And while we are at it, remember Medicare also has its own special tax. Payments for Medicare do not come out of the general revenue stream. So why does Medicare have to be sacrificed.
While we are on the subject of healthcare, do we really want to kill more poor by reducing Medicaid. Fpr all the talk of death panels, reducing Medicaid will result in more people dying. Its that simple.
In the budget talks we need to separate programs that are paid for by the generalrevenue stream from programs that are paid for with speacial taxes. Then we can look at what needs to be sacrificed. If we look closely, there is damn little to sacrifice.

I am sick and tired of hearing some nonsense about shared sacrifice. I am sick and tired of hearing nonsense about no new taxes. We have two big problems today. The immediate problem is employment. Losing a job is not shared sacrifice. Losing a job results in people being sacrificed who used to contribute to society. Nothing shared about it. So don't talk to someone without a job sharing the sacrifice. Those words to the unemployed just mean they are getting screwed again and it ain't fun.
The moderate term problem in wage inequity. No longer is wage inequity limited to women, minorities and the poor. Wage inequity is impacting everyone who is not in the top 10 percent. Some of it is caused by more efficient manufacturing. Some of it is caused by unfair foreign competition otherwise known as outsourcing. Some of it is formed by destroying unions.. Some of it is because of deregulation. But wage inequity must be resolved in order for any employment programs to be successful over the moderate term.
Over the long term wealth disparity must be addressed. Tea party folds love to talk about the days of the founding fathers. In those days most wealth was in property and property taxes were taxes on most wealth. Those days have long since past.The states are no longer capable of taxing wealth, since wealth is no longer tied to property. Worse the common defense is a huge expense that is paid at the federal level.Walth must be taxed to pay for the common defense. It is that plain an simple. The constitution must be modified to enable the federal government to tax wealth. It is that simple.
So end the bull shit about shared sacrifice!! Raise taxes. Use the money to pay for education, infrastructure, research, and development. Develop a program to ensure inexpensive non carbon dioxide producing energy. Let's move gfrward. Let's provide for fair income for all. Those are the solutions, non of this shared sacrifice bull shit.
