promises to be another blockbuster.
Named "Farenheit 911", it's reported to be about 9/11, the Bush's and the bin Laden's, and the way this administration used 9/11 to consolidate and increase their power. The last reporting I've seen says it will be ready for screening at Cannes 2004 (in May). It will be released shortly thereafter, in time for the election.
Hmmm... and we thought things were just gonna get nasty between the campaigns. Is this a flamethrower or what? I gotta tell you, I've got a lot of hope invested in this movie. There are so many questions that just haven't been answered (or asked)... What was the nature of the FBI's "threat assessment" that was the impetus for John Ashcroft to stop flying commercial in the weeks leading up to 9/11? Why were Saudi's, including members of the bin Laden family, spirited out of this country on aircraft at a time when relatives of 9/11 victims (or anyone else) weren't allowed to fly? Why did Bush resist the formation of a 9/11 investigatory panel? Why did Bush have 28 pages dealing with Saudi Arabia in the congressional report redacted? Is there any truth to the Times of India story that reported that the head of Pakistan's ISI (like our CIA), Lt. Gen. Mahmud Ahmad, was forced to resign after 9/11 when it was discovered that he wired $100,000 to Muhammed Atta, the supposed ringleader of the 9/11 terror network?
