My first diary...

...And in it I boil down the ultimate goal for government of (most) Republicans and of (most) Democrats.

Republicans want a government which controls what "decency" is, punishes anything considered by them to be "indecent", and has little to no oversight of the regulation of industry.

Democrats ultimately want a government that regulates (and minimially impacts) industry, gives assistance to those that need it, and sets up minimum economic baselines that everyone should never have to fall below.
