In case there was any doubt in anyone's mind here in March 2005, I think it is quite clear after this Schiavo nonsense that Republicans own and control what is disseminated by the US media. Fox, CNN, CNBC, MSNBC, and most of the media are controlled by these whackos. The continued, repeated and ongoing distortion of the well-established facts by such formerly respected news organizations as CNN is an outrage. As has been well documented here, the media are telling LIES, BIG LIES, to the American people on a minute-by-minute basis.
DeLay abuse of power. Bankruptcy bill. Gannon/Guckert. Social Security. Drilling in the Artic Refuge. Extremist judges. How about torture prosecutions? Our issues have been obliterated by this crap.

No one will be charged in the deaths of Iraqi prisoners.
The Kossacks Media Team (i.e. all of us) should be on the lookout for other news to be disclosed over this weekend and in the next week that would be sure to provoke an outcry and the media's full attention but for this Schiavo nonsense.
Now, we have an important duty as Americans. We must watch the government like hawks. The Schiavo situation is clearly a well-conceived and brilliantly executed media campaign. It MUST have been concieved to cover something. What will our government be disclosing as the media pumps the countdown to Schiavo's death (yes, these are the same people who call themselves a part of the "culture of life".)
Further, we should make every attempt to kick off new issues that will put Dems back on the "front pages" of the media.
