Salon and the
Village Voice both have pieces documenting Rev. Sharpton's troubling GOP ties. Where is Terry McAuliffe on this issue...a big tent is wonderful but frauds and charlatans like Sharpton need to be shown the door. His
continuing ties to
GOP hatchetman Roger Stone disqualify him from continuing in the Democratic debates.
Al Sharpton was his usual fountain of one-liners tonight at the debate. His "greatest hits" now include attacks on Dean for his racial hiring record and tonight Edwards and Kerry for Iraq and trade issues. The GOP must be smiling at their handy work. Sharpton again somehow escapes any serious questioning of his own spotty record. I will grant Sharpton was a strong voice for ending Vieques testing and was on the right side in the Central Park Jogger case. However, his record is still a patchwork of scandal and misrepresentation that goes unquestioned while Rev. Al continues his comic antics and veiled attacks at true Democrats.
