There are posts throughout this site bemoaning Daschle's spinelessness. Someone even suggested Boxer as a replacement. While I wholly agree that Daschle needs to go, Boxer needs to hit the door right behind him. She is just as spineless. The front page of the SF Chronicle today had a story where she was quoted saying that she agreed that the current law in CA regarding marriage is correct and generally condemning SF's effort to end discrimination. Of course, the story included recent poll results showing that 50% of Californians object to gay marriages. Apparently a poll is necessary before a Democratic "leader" in Washington is capable of forming an opinion.
I have a proposal: On March 2 Boxer is running unopposed for the Democratic nomination for Senate. I am going to write-in Gavin Newsom. Of course, she will win; that's not the point. But, it will give us a way of protesting her position and supporting Newsom's decision in one fell swoop.
