[Update ] Records remain sealed in abuse & death of 2 year-old

This is an update to my previous diary on the abuse and murder of my great-niece Kelsey. Oklahoma district judge David Cawthon has ruled that DHS and other state records involving Kelsey Briggs can be released to her parents and the man accused of killing the girl, but not to the public.  The judge wrote that state law prohibits disclosure of the records to the general public.  

Several years ago, there was a similar case involving a little boy named Ryan Luke.  State law was changed to allow DHS to release a summary of their records, but as you can see in Kelsey's case, a summary is not enough.  If any of you reading this are in Oklahoma, please contact your representatives and senators to get the law changed to allow the taxpayers to see the whole story.  It's too late for Kelsey and the 51 other children who have died from abuse this year in Oklahoma, but we need to be able to hold DHS accountable the next time they fail to do their job.
