Moving to SF 2: The Politics

As most of you know by now, I'm moving from Detroit to San Francisco next weekend. Now I have some questions about the politics and political actors. Being solid blue, there is no action between Democrats and Republicans, so I'm sure the city's Democratic must have its factions. What are they? What distinguishes them? What individual rivalries exist? Secondly, where do the following players fit in the region?

- Dianne Feinstein and Barbara Boxer
I once heard they personally do not like each other. Is this true? Do they continue to have any influence on the local politics?
