I know many of you anti-Lieberman people won't be too happy with me, but Joe has just been reelected. With the sub base in Connecticut now off the closing list for the foreseeable future, one potential problem for Lieberman has just been eliminated.
His primary challenger, John Ormond didn't stand much of a chance against Lieberman anyway, but his chances just went down much further. Before he had about a 5% of beating Lieberman, now that chance is almost zero.
Now Ormond will have to make the Iraqi war his main focus, and he should go after Joe as hard as he can on this issue. With Shiites shooting each other in Sadr City today, Iraq is threatening to turn into a bloody civil war.
Ormond must let it be known that Lieberman's vote for the war must carry some consequences to it. Almost 2000 soldiers have died for no good reason, and almost nothing positive has ever been achieved in Iraq.
But if Ormond does make Iraq his central theme, Lieberman still has a 68% approval rating. That is almost impossible to beat. Joe is a very able campaigner, and he has beaten some very tough opponets in the past.
John Ormond has a very tough road ahead of him. If I were him, I would pack it in because as Vince Mc.Mahon says in his opening music credit, Mr. Ormond has "NO CHANCE IN HELL"!!!
