Way back in October, I
posted a rant on my blog that was ultimately about provacateur-extraordinaire David Horowitz, but which elaborated in great deal on the arguably racist and homophobic content of nearby Roger Williams University's conservative student publication (which went further than even Horowitz has gone, but was defended by him as far up as Capitol Hill).
At the time, I insisted that Roger Williams needed to be ground zero for organizing of the RI Federation of College Democrats, given the sudden change in that campus' usually apolitical/apathetic standing. As of today, and their College Republicans chapter's endowment of a whites-only scholarship (supposedly to protest affirmative action, I'm renewing that push as my chapter (the Brown University College Dems) gets set to convene the First Annual RI College Dems Caucus in about a month. But like the previous stories about affirmative action bake sales in Texas, CA, and Washington State, this meme needs to be spread nationwide so that more people can know what tomorrow's leaders of the Republican Party/conservative movement are thinking...
As a sidebar-- I also love the obvious hypocrisy of Mattera decrying minority scholarships while he receives one (though I do feel kinda bad for the guy-- growing up as a Puerto Rican Republican in Brooklyn, he must have had very few friends...). Sounds like he and Clarence Thomas would get along wonderfully.
