Well, I didn't get as much feedback as I was hoping, or rather, the feedback that I did get was extremely mixed (see entries
1 and
2). And, alas, too much going on at work and in particular a sick child make me not the best person to be setting himself up to be in charge.
So I propose the following:
- That those who can make it pick up Fiat Lux's idea (more here) and attend tomorrow's Dean Meet-Up in Oakland. If Fiat Lux is around, could he/she give more details on this? I believe he/she is talking about the meetup at Saysetha restaurant on Telegraph. Kossacks could find one another there, perhaps someone could get up and make an announcement, and form a core group. I, alas, will likely be unable to make it depending on how my boy is doing.
- That we then schedule another Kossack specific gathering for later in the month. I would suggest the Mission, since it is central, and BARTable, and several Kossacks live there and could hopefully pick out a workable location (I myself am a peninsula dweller; I used to live in Noe Valley but I'm sure much has changed in the past seven years in terms of desireable locales). I would propose a time that is mid-evening (say 8:00) in order to accomodate both those who work late and those with families or who otherwise turn into pumpkins at midnight. A Thursday seems logical.
- But, that said, I think we all would defer to whatever opinions the maestro himself might have on this: Kos, if you would be interested in meeting some of your regulars at some kind of local gathering, where, when, and how would you prefer it be set up?
