It seems that kos has lost the vision of the purpose of this site. It's a shame, because the vision was one of beauty, was one of splendor and lovely,
lovely things. It was one which we all could agree was clearly the most important thing possible in our quest to get progresives elected.
That vision, is gaining and keeping TU status.
Let me repeat, with more vigor:
THE PURPOSE OF DAILYKOS IS FOR ALL OF US TO FIRST ACQUIRE THEN RETAIN TU STATUS.
Unfortunately, his changes have ruined the purpose, and we are left in shambles.
I mean, I no longer have TU status. I've had it for longer than his "3-month" cut-off, too! At least 95 days. And as I'm replying in that diary, I lost it. This is ridiculous.
I NEVER troll-rated anyone. NOT ONCE. I ONLY gave out 4's. Why am I suddenly not trustworthy? It's not like it's my responsibility to troll-rate or something. I think someone like me who never ever troll-rates should be more trusted than someone who does, because who is more likely to abuse troll-ratings?
It should be obvious.
Besides, the reason for the troll-ratings abuse is that there's only two buttons (or one, if you're like me and got robbed). We need more buttons. I mean, how else can we give out opinions on comments and diaries? We need more buttons!
Like an "Agree / Disagree" button. That way, if I read some bullshit from an idiot, I can just click "Disagree!" and run off, leaving him to figure out why. I've got better things to do with my time than craft replies and engage in discourse.
We should have a "LMAO" button too, for when something's funny. Or a "Kind of agree, kind of disagree" button for when someone is heading towards a point you agree with, but then kind of slides to the side and misses it. We should have more mid-range buttons too, to fully capture the possible responses one might have to various comments. Things like "This is the stupidest thing I ever heard" buttons, and "This comment sucks, but I really like your sig line" buttons. We should probably also throw an "Other (see comment below)" button, just in case your response doesn't fit into one of the thousands of buttons we'll have.
Look, people. Exchanging ideas about progressives and getting them elected is all well and good, but I came here for validation. I came here to be a part of an elite group of people so I could CLEARLY be seen to be superior to mere mortals. TU status gave me all of that, and now it's gone, all gone.
It's KOS'S RESPONSIBILITY TO GIVE IT BACK TO ME. I was a GREAT TU, never rating anyone as a troll, not making enemies, not rocking the boat. I never even looked in the Hidden Comments section, where is it? Not like it matters NOW after I got screwed.
This place is turning into freeper-ville with all the heavy-handedness. It's totally unfair to take away TU status and completely unreasonable to expect us to have to earn it through thoughtful comments and insightful discussions.
I mean, what the fuck does this place look like? Thoughtful comments? Insightful discussions?
I'm here for ME and for MY EGO.
Give me back TU status. I've been here for several months, I totally deserve it, and I promise I won't abuse the powers. I'll go back to commenting every so often, never troll-rating, and taking comfort in the existence of a concept such as TU, for how else would I be able to validate my intelligence and sheer awesomeness?
Let us not forget: TU Status is the most important aspect of this site, people. Don't get bogged down with nonsense like "discussion" or "facts" or, God help us, "insight."
For as we well know, the true measure of a person's worth is the ability to click on a fucking button.
