Every day members of the Republican party seek to destroy America in the name of protecting it. But lately, they're finding themselves caught in a spotlight drawn by Bush's colosal stupidity, arrogance and incompetence. And when caught, they're dropping whatever it is they're raping, stealing or corrupting and running for it.

For almost eight centuries the "great writ" of habeas corpus has been a bedrock principle of English and American law, from the Magna Carta to today's jails and courts. It's the means for a prisoner to contest his imprisonment before a judge. That's one reason legal experts were stunned when the Senate, after an hour of debate, voted Thursday to overturn the Supreme Court's extension of habeas corpus protection to 500-plus detainees at the Guantanamo Bay naval base in Cuba. Opponents vowed Friday to fight the measure, and negotiators on the issue said the Senate may reconsider it early next week.

Many legal experts said the reach of Graham's proposal was breathtaking.
The Senate is "trying to reverse a Supreme Court case of great magnitude and scuttle another one," said Scott Silliman, a former Air Force lawyer who heads Duke University's Center on Law, Ethics and National Security. "This is momentous." Even proponents of the administration's position that Congress and the courts should stay out of the detainee issue expressed surprise.

The same bunch of rabid dogs were just caught with the pristine Arctic Refuge in their bloody jaws, when they were hit by the spotlight generated by bush's plunging numbers and dropped it and ran. Lindsay Graham needs to hear the same message. DROP IT!
The only thing that's working is that the public's finally caught on. Iraq is a lost war that won't protect America. Katrina revealed a shitass government that won't protect America and Cheney, a paranoid outing our spies destroying our front lines of defense for revenge. Meanwhile Bush won't admit it and the public finally sees it. Not becuase of us. Just because of them. And the public is like the lady with the broom who walks into the dirty kitchen and flips on the lights. With a major political shift already in the works, Republicans caught in the act of dismembering America are stopping so they can blame it all on Bush. We can't let them get away with that They're gonna have to carry bush on their backs all the way through the angry mobs of 2006.
