Here I am, YearlyKos Conference registration fee paid up, registered at the Riviera Hotel, and hot, hot, HOT to go.
Have my travel plans set, got someone to travel with (OK, so it was my mother, but hey, she's a hot liberal great-grandma), and what do you know, life throws me a sucker curve-ball.
My older daughter, whose life took a hard left turn about two years ago, has managed to finally finish high school. No GED for her, no sir, she has spent the last year and a half going to an alternate school, where she could do most of her required work from home, so that she can wear a cap and gown and walk up to accept a real graduate diploma from her high school.
The bad part? It was originally set for June 5th. Last week, it got moved to June 9th. Right in the middle of YearlyKos.
Sometimes, it sucks to be me.
So here I am, with a paid registration, and
NO WAY can I attend.
I am not missing my oldest child's high school graduation, not after she worked her ass off to graduate. She could have taken the GED test almost two years ago, and been done with it. But she stuck it out, and I can't not (I know, I know, it's a double negative, but how else should I put it?) be there to support her now, no matter how badly it's going to kill me to miss the convention!
I need to find someone who needs or wants an already paid for registration. I'll simply go into the registration site, and substitute your information for mine - the YearlyKos team was kind enough to tell me how to do this.
Of course, I would prefer someone who was willing to pay me for it, or for some of it at least (I got in early, for $125.00 and have the email from Paypal to prove it).
Second best would be someone who is dying to go, has the ability to get there, but no funds for registration.
Anyone interested?
