A recent remark I made on another blog entry has sparked a question in my head about what we're doing in Iraq, exactly? There are so many views out there I think it would be counterproductive to try to list even some of them or the ones I think may be the major points of view, so I'll do this instead.
I'd like to ask a question that may help us form an idea to the question, "What are we actually doing in Iraq?"
Is it the terrorist and a true threat that will have to be dealt with over long periods of time that will include our presents in the area?
Or
Is it that regardless of what ends up happening, we need to get out of there within 2 years, period?
I understand and acknowledge that this is completely oversimplifying the situation, but that's what I intend to do at first to try to draw some ideas of what our goals are and what we believe is the situation.
So here is the poll: (Remarks and suggestions, please!!!)
