I've absolutely had it. I'm tired I tell you, TIRED of these bastards getting their way. And they better NOT get it this time.
This is it. The battle begins. FILLIBUSTER MUST BE USED ON THIS ONE. Democrats, if you don't stand up to this guy in UNITY, you just may lose me
for good. ONE Scalia is enough.
How many times will we the American people have to be in the middle of these political maneuvers just to exercise a base? Where are the principles involved in all of this? This isn't some BS game, this is our lives and the lives of our children! How many times will we have to have these sanctimonious, self righteous, holier than thou hypocrites shoving their phony morals and values down our throats?
I listened to others throughout all of the stolen elections, the lies, the deceptions, the ILLEGAL war that still rages on in Iraq, and the attacks on our country and our Constitution, who said be patient, we will have victory, we will defeat them, we will... blah, blah, blah. I have signed THOUSANDS of petitions in the last five years. I started a PAC to do what I could in my own small way on my own to speak out and fight. I have typed thousands of articles on various blogs, forums, websites, etc., giving information over the years and truth to enlighten others. I have gotten in the face of freepers who dared to question my patriotism and spit on me. I have written THOUSANDS of letters to Congress and spoken to thousands of people over the last five years about the destructive policies of these people. And I haven't been alone. There are millions of us doing it everyday, and yet these people still go on lying to us! They still control this government. After all the lies, they are still there.
And now, look again this morning as we see yet another attack on the principles of freedom and against the women of this country. As we once again see the absolute dereliction of principle in this partisan political game that is using America as it's gameboard. I will not sit here this time and be patient. I will not sit here and keep quiet. This judge is a direct threat to the reproductive and constitutional rights of women in this country, and I will be damned as a woman to allow those in this Congress who claim to care about freedom to appoint this judge to the USSC.
I tell you all in Congress this as well, especially Democrats: The American people are getting FED UP with the games and using our lives and the lives of our children to get out your political revenge. ON PRINCIPLE, this USSC pick is not good for America. You cannot have a USSC that is not balanced. Stacking this court with RW of even LW ideologues is the death knell for the United States Constitution, and it must not stand.
Therefore, Democrats and those who actually do care for where the next thirty years take us above all the political bs, it is time to stand up for your principles if you have any and FILLIBUSTER this nominee. I don't give a damn about the "nuclear option" or how it will look in 2006, and am sick of all of it. Stand up for once for the young women in this country who will have their rights taken from them. Stand up for the American worker. Stand up for the poor. Stand up for the environment. Stand up for the Constitution and stop being a rubber stamp. And for once and in all earnestness, stand the hell up to these self righteous bastards who would dare say they want less government, but would then USE IT to stick their noses in every facet of our private lives!
The line in the sand has been drawn by them, and it is time to cross it. If you don't, you do it not only at our peril, but your own.
And the last sentence I bolded from this article below made me want to hurl my breakfast. How DARE they use the funeral of a good woman like Rosa Parks to haul out their USSC pick.

Bush Picks Alito for Supreme Court

WASHINGTON - President Bush, stung by the rejection of his first choice, nominated longtime judge Samuel Alito in a bid to reshape the Supreme Court and mollify his conservative allies. Democrats said that Alito may be "too radical for the American people."
"Judge Alito has served with distinction on that court for 15 years, and now has more prior judicial experience than any Supreme Court nominee in more than 70 years," Bush said, drawing an unspoken contrast to his first choice, Harriet Miers.
Unlike her nomination, which was derailed Thursday by Bush's conservative allies, Alito faces opposition from Democrats.
"The Senate needs to find out if the man replacing Miers is too radical for the American people," said Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nevada.
So consistently conservative, Alito has been dubbed "Scalito" or "Scalia-lite" by some lawyers because his judicial philosophy invites comparisons to conservative Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia. But while Scalia is outspoken and is known to badger lawyers, Alito is polite, reserved and even-tempered.
"The Supreme Court is an institution I have long held in reverence," said the bespectacled judge, a former prosecutor and government attorney who has argued 12 cases before the Supreme Court. "During my 29 years as a public servant, I've had an opportunity to view the Supreme Court from a variety of perspectives."
From the bench, Alito has staked out positions supporting restrictions on abortion, such as parental and spousal notification.
Wasting no time, the White House arranged for Alito to go to the Capitol after the announcement. The schedule called for Senate Majority Leader Bill First to greet him and accompany the nominee to the Capitol Rotunda to go to the coffin of the late civil rights pioneer Rosa Parks.
