Sheaffer was not required to file a flight plan before departing, according to the airport owner.
.....
Sheaffer, a military veteran, retired farmer and junkyard owner, obtained his pilot's license in 1969. He must wear corrective contact lenses while flying, according to the FAA.
.....
Sheaffer and Martin were released from federal custody about 5:30 p.m. Wednesday. They reportedly rented a car for the drive back to Lancaster County.
.....
Youmans said Sheaffer is a Republican and campaigned for President Bush.
"He's a big President Bush supporter," Youmans said. "He's a good person that made a terrible error."
Important update to this dairy. First, I never said Bush or crew staged this. All I said is they staged it refering to the polit. I'm not trying to create a conspiracy theory only pointing out that this Pilot was a Bush supporter.
What is weird though that I find is Bush wasn't informed and was out of the White House at the time. That is not a conspiracy theory, but a fact that we know he was riding the bike. Of course all that proves is that Bush had another my Pet Goat moment.
Remember we don't always have to assume that it takes people from the top to stage a event. I just find it odd that they were released so fast. Not to mention when Bush visits places the people who are in free speech zones don't get let off that easy even when they don't brake the law.
