The Atlanta Journal-Constitution ran an op-ed by professional whiners Gottlieb and Workman in which they (what else) whined about just having their derrieres handed to them with the recent Senate vote. I'm a Howard Dean sort of gun control/2nd amendment guy, so I'm not too upset or happy about the whole issue. But, the whiners took the opportunity to toss in a little jibe at Kerry, admitting he's a hunter, "albeit an elitist one". Here's my letter to the editor in response:
Re: "Double-barreled Dems two-faced"
According to lobbyists Gottlieb and Workman, Democrat John Kerry isn't manly enough when it comes to huntin' and shootin'. Kerry is an elitist hunter because...why? Because he's wealthy? Because he bags his limit? Does he use designer bullets? Gottlieb and Workman come up against a Democrat who is actually a hunter and soldier and the best they've got is "elitist"?
If those boys think Kerry is an effete woodsman, what does that make Dick Cheney? He's richer, he's never shot at something that was shooting back, and he recently had himself and his buddy Judge Tony flown to a private duck "hunting" venue at taxpayer expense. At least Kerry hits what he aims at, both in war and in the field. From what aides say, neither Dick nor Tony bagged anything all day at the duck farm. Unless you count Tony's integrity.
I guess being a manly man isn't what it used to be in America. What's next? A rich, elitist NASCAR fan being jetted in (at taxpayer expense) to watch the Daytona 500?
