Well,
It's starting.
Gonzales v. Oregon, 04-623.
Roberts antagonistically questioned Oregon's lawyer in the case currently before the Supreme Court that will determine whether as Conservatives always complain... states have the power to make their own laws and reject "radical" beliefs in their government.
That's what it comes down to. The right to die is a Human Right. It's a Civil Right. The only reason (ONLY REASON!!) it's illegal in America is because Religion is being shoved down our throats by radical activist judges and legislators like Roberts.
My Uncle died from AIDS. He was a bisexual. My grandfather died from a stroke. My mom has told me that if she ever gets Alzheimers like her mother had, she wants to be allowed to end her own life.
All of these members of my family have asked for us to end their lives for them. How is it I live in such a backward country that I have to tell them "no?"
How is it I live in a country where we caught my grandfather's Evangelical nurse sneaking him liquids when his medical chart read "do not feed, do not give liquids" as he had asked for us to let him die. How is it that the only recourse in our society is to let our loved ones starve over the course of several weeks to a month of slow death?
Religion needs to be put to death in America. I've had it. These fundamentalists need to be put to death... politically.
The Oregon case is split and as usual, O'Conner would probably determine the course of the case. But she'll most likely be gone before it's decided. Miers, if chosen will decide this case. Gee, I wonder what a conservative Evangelical like her will decide.
Obviously, she'll decide that states don't have the right to choose their own course... unless it's about installing radical Evangelical doctrine... like banning gay marriage. The hypocrisy is absurd.
This whole country is absurd.
Right now, conservatives are arguing that the use of drugs to end a life is illegal. And they're right... it is. But what the F?!? Now, I don't understand the specifics of the law... but I see the blatantly absurd hypocrisy.
Uhhh... Capital Punishment? Lethal Injection?!?
This is a game for these people. This isn't about legality or Justice. This is about Religion.
And it has no place in American government.
The right to die should be a Civil Right. As it is, we live in a society polluted by Religious values. Someday, I hope we can go back to looking at these radical fundamentalists with the disdain they deserve. Until then, I guess I'll have to fly my mom to Europe if she wants the kind of Freedom freaks like George Bush spit on.
If I have to do that... I doubt I'll be coming back. What the F for? F this country. F it straight to hell. I'm sick of this.
PS. Sorry, the thing with that Evangelical nurse and my grandpa will probly never heal... God, I hate these people. I don't hate much on this planet... but Evangelicals... I really do hate them... hate what they're about, hate their lifestyles, hate their arrogance and their cruelty. Hate just about everything about them. Hate them.
