Yes, you read it right. Before the California primary, California Democrats must caucus to decide the delegates who are up for election for each candidate...or at least that's the nickel version. Although to be accurate, I should say that the caucuses to select
Dean's delegates are this Sunday.
If you are a Dean supporter and live in California, please consider attending your caucus. (Although I suppose, if you want, you can attend even if you don't support Dean. Caucuses are open to all registered Democrats, and registration forms will be available at the door.) Go to www.ca-dem.org (
here) to find your caucus site (click on "Feb. 8 caucus information"). Caucuses are held by congressional district. Additional information is at Dean's
California website.
If you live in Congressional District 33 (Diane Watson, Los Angeles), please show up and vote for me, Peter Perkowski. I'm running for a delegate position and would love your support. CD 33 will meet at USC's Davidson Conference Center, 3415 South Figueroa, LA 90089.
Caucuses begin at 1pm (doors open), doors close at 3pm (voting begins shortly after that), and should be done by 5pm. You can show up and vote then leave, or show up and give your proxy then leave. It will be quite fun! See you there.
