Alberto Gonzales, resident idiot

In his speech earlier, President Bush highlighted our successes in the war on terror, from the bbc

...at least 10 attempted attacks by al-Queda had been foiled since 9/11, three of them in the US.

then it gets a bit confusing:

 Asked what the al-Queda attacks were, attorney general Alberto Gonzalez highlighted the failed shoe bomb attack by Richard Reid, but said others remained classified.

Dude get your story straight, first Richard Reid was stopped by a stewardess (info) and second, the white house is fine releasing the information (in the next paragraph)

The White House cited two plots involving US citizens: an alleged plan by Jose Padilla to set off a radiological dirty bomb, and an attempt by Iyman Faris to sabotage the Brooklyn Bridge in New York.

What the hell is wrong with him?  I realize how impossible it is that they just made up an arbitrary number of 'terrorists,' so it's difficult to see his confusion.  I wouldn't call a man getting on a plane and having trouble ignighting his explosive shoes a thwarting, thats more dumb luck.  Or was this stewardess working for the cia?  In that case, the man is a genius (who has no shame outing covert agents!!)
