The Washington Post Online is hosting a live chat with Joe Trippi at 3PM EST today.
You can attend the chat and submit questions here.
There are SO many questions I'd love to ask Trippi at this point, so I've decided to brainstorm a few below.
BTW, here's my hunch about WaPo chats that I've discovered based on my own experience sending in questions: if you identify your city and state as inside the Beltway (like me in Falls Church, VA) you are far less likely to be chosen than if you pick somewhere less common. Maybe we could all use some made up city like "Kosville"....
The kinds of questions I'd like to ask Trippi include:
- What do you think of TruthandHope.org, the 527 funded by Dean supporters that ran radio ads in some states recently? To what extent did DFA do radio advertising?
- If you could have done ONE thing differently, what would it have been? Just ONE.
'Course then I start to think of what I'd really like to ask Trippi, which are more accusations than questions. I have a great deal of goodwill for Joe, especially because of the incredibly moving and honorable loyalty he has shown to Dean since leaving the campaign, but I must confess, I'm still bitter about media mistakes.
- When you heard the cries of thousands of Dean's most fervent , loyal, dedicated supporters criticizing the mediocre ads produced by your media team, why didn't you have the guts to use some of our $45 million war chest to work with a different firm?
- Please explain your rationale for airing a self-congratulatory campaign video rather than having Dean himself appeal to voters in Iowa (as every other campaign did) when given free air time on Iowa TV on caucus day.
- At what point did you decide that the campaign was about the campaign (the $100 revolution, the Perfect Stormers, etc.) rather than about Howard Dean?
I have dozens and dozens more that come to mind, but because of my "personal" goodwill toward Trippi and because today seems more like a day of mourning for me rather than a day for autopsies, I'm definitely leaning toward the top two rather than my more bitter questions. What would you ask Trippi?
