Contradictions (but with bush we expect nothing less)

So two big stories this week are the 9/11 commisions report on the absence of a link between iraq and the Qaeda's actions on 9/11, and Ashcroft's memo regarding the legality of torture in Iraq. Bush claims two things, one that Saddams and Al Qaeda's very discussion of 9/11, regardless of Saddam not buying in, is incriminating in itself. 2. is that Bush was only recieving a memo regadring the legality torture use, and wasn't actually intending to use it; simply a standard legal feeler. Yet somehow, Saddam being contacted by Bin Laden who seeks his support is more damaging than bush seeing if its legal to torture people. Then it turns that Bush's administration (and the authority of authorizers gets higher every week) followed through, while Saddam was too afraid.

Kudos to Biden for eating Ashcroft on the breaking of the Geneva Convention. I'm off to go watch Jennings break more jeoporday records.
