PrisonPlanet.com suggests the beam above was cut by Thermite, but before I buy that I need to know an answer to my question.
Did cleanup crews use plasma arch torches to cut debris into manageable pieces?
Long ago, in a galaxy far, far away I worked in a plant and actually used a plasma torch occassionally.
Our crew leader taught me how it worked before turning me loose.. The arc melts the steel and a blast of air blows the metal out (this made it extremely loud). It sliced through 3/4" steel like a hot knife through warm butter, and left behind dribbles of steel along the edge of the cut. Seeing that photo is what reminded me of my experience with a plasma torch.
Can anyone confirm whether or not plasma torches were used in WTC cleanup?
EDITED: I do not want to discuss conspiracy theory. I did in fact want to disprove what I thought was bullshit in an article I read today.
Thanks to those who replied to my post with the answer to my question (which is, yes - the beams were sectioned off by plasma torches to be carried away)
