The White House announced late today that President Bush has appointed former Iraqi President Saddam Hussein to lead the commission investigating the Administration's handling of the Iraq War. Although Hussein still faces trial next month and a potential hanging and/or stoning immediately following the trial, the Administration feels that the full investigation should only take a couple of days at best.
At the press conference announcing the appointment, President Bush was asked how and why he could make such a controversial appointment at this juncture, Bush replied, "Because I can.", at which point the President lifted his middle finger to the assembled press corps.
Saddam Hussein was unavailable for comment.
