This is an open invitation to join a non-partisan group of citizens who are committed to getting Congress to pass legislation requiring voter-verifiable paper audit trails (VVPAT) in time for the 2008 elections:

http://www.federalvvpat.info
This is not a traditional discussion group. Its members are committed to actively working toward Federal VVPAT legislation an ongoing basis. Anyone can join, but, to continue as a member, you must...
o Commit one hour per week to this effort, week in and week out, through 2007.
o Use that hour to respond to specific action requests (eg, collect and report information, contact members of Congress, reach out to other citizens, etc.)
Our current focus is to build a network of citizens in every US House district who are committed to work toward Federal VVPAT legislation, including at least one citizen in each district who shares the same party affiliation as the district's Representative.
If you want to support federal VVPAT legislation, but would not be comfortable working with Republicans on this issue, or if this particular effort requires more commitment than you are up for, you may want to check out these alternatives:
http://groups.yahoo.com/... - to promote accessibility, integrity, voter verifiability and auditability of the electoral process.
http://groups.google.com/... - to discuss and disseminate evidence of US election fraud and to promote election integrity.
