Now this is something we have had a bit of discussion about here. In the interests of some perceived "electability" many of the more independent thinkers or supporters of "outsider" candidates like Dean have been demonized and marginalized. We have been attacked as a "radical fringe".
And Kerry has moved forward! He voted for the Iraq war, and in the campaign to come, the air waves will be saturated with pictures of him in a military uniform, as he struggles to appear "centrist".
In the meantime, "free trade" and the corporate rich - decidedly a Kerry constituency themselves, as far as Democratic politicians are concerned - continue to wage a war on the American middle class. And in Iraq, the the fallacy of George and John continues to reap the whirlwind.
Now comes the comeuppance to a Democratic party machine and elite or establishment media that would not ultimately not tolerate an outsider candidate, and which together sunk the Dean candidacy. John Kerry - your war is now on two flanks. Congratulations, you've been Gored. Substract a couple percent from your eventual turnout at the polls. You've lost the independent thinkers and the portion of the liberal street that is not corporate rich but instead wants major change.
