Subject: Can Progressives win another OH seat in the US House?
Maybe with your help.
Maybe Dennis Kucinich will have some company.
Jeff Seemann was motivated enough by Howard Dean that he is now running for Congress from the 16th district (Canton and Amish Country which go together so well - due to Ohio Republican gerrymandering, no doubt). From his bio on the site "A lifelong Democrat, Jeff Seemann has spent the last three years as an activist. He founded the Stark County Peace Coalition, which demonstrated against the Bush Administration 26 times in the past 12 months."
From Open secrets, his opponent Ralph Regula (incumbent) got 69% of the vote in 2002 to an opponent who essentially rolled over (reported no $ spent). It is possible Progressives can upset this supposed "safe" seat held by a nearly 80 year old incumbent. In addition, Bush only won in 2002 by 52% of the vote. Negative coattails anyone?
Regula raised around $300K and spent $250K in 2002. As of February, Ralph had raised $67,431, spent $96,943, and had cash on hand of $100,981.
$300,000 is relatively cheap to compete for a U.S. Congress seat. Surely, there are at least 15,000 people sick enough of the Republican controlled federal government to donate $20 to help Jeff upset the status quo. Can you help?
If you want to help Jeff you can donate something to his campaign ($10, $20, $50, on up) , you can pledge to volunteer, you can register people to vote, you can intern, and you can encourage your like-minded friends to do so as well.

While they may not be the polished "political" sounding statements that waffle without taking a stance, I think you'll find them honest and to your liking.
