Harry Reid For President

We have all been in a quandry about who will emerge in 2008.

We have doubts about Hillary's ability to win in red states.

Does Warner have enough national security experience?

Ditto Edwards.

Is Clark ready to deliver some charisma?

Kerry Act II?

I think today we have our answer.  We need someone:
-from a swing state and region.
-who is tough as nails with brass balls.
-who has national security credentials/experience.
-who has a compelling life story.

Ladies and gentlemen...

Let's look at some more pluses:

A brilliant strategist
We saw the value of having the head of the party/ticket being a brilliant strategist with Clinton.  

Compelling story/personality
His attempt to strangle the official attempting to bribe him (caught on tape) and the entire movie Casino is enough, let alone growing up poor in rural Nevada.

Values
Reid is not exactly pro-choice.  It would certainly be an interesting West-Wing type race if Guiliani ran against Reid.  But Reid is commited to keeping Roe v Wade the law of the land.  Regardless, he probably can talk to religious voters, especially moderate Catholics and soccer mom Christians.

He's TOUGH
Who would you rather have negotiate with North Korea?  

Electoral Votes
Reid brings in Nevada, probably cements NM and helps in CO.  That could be 18 EVs.  Not bad.  Run him with Richardson and you have a real interesting, all-western ticket.

I don't know if he wants it.  But seems to me after what I've seen I'd trust Reid to lead the country.
