Just two weeks ago, Clark had passed Dean when money was removed from the equation. At that time, it seemed more than reasonable that Clark would quickly move into first place. Now, however, his position in second place is becoming a little shaky.

Yesterday, he finished a distant eighth in media coverage, behind even Moseley-Braun. Overall, his coverage has slipped to fourth, with Gephardt hot on his trail. Since I believe there is a connection between media coverage and national poll numbers, it seems entirely possible to me that Clark could take a hit in other areas as a result of his free fall in media coverage.  

How did this happen? I have no idea. I do know that the media still seems to love it when Clark releases policy proposals. His national emergency service plan was a big hit, and on the day he released it he easily won in overall press coverage. If I worked on his campaign, I would release some detailed policy proposals, and I would do it ASAP.
