Music For America is Proud to Announce:
http://www.musicforamerica.org/party
Music for America was one of the first independent organizations to grow out of the Dean movement. We started as a PAC in April of 2003 and have been pioneering ever since; less than six months ago we re-formed as a 527, and now we're starting to build some real momentum.
Don't want to drop out but don't want to work for The Long-Faced Bandit? We've got just the "party" for you...
The primaries may have lost a little of their zing, but we can still get down, see some great music, register some people to vote and educate them about our issues. We can still send a message with our participation.
More importantly we can lay the foundations for victory over Bush in November, and over the creaking political establishment in the months and years beyond.
We're building an organization to drive progressive voter turnout among the under-30 crowd -- carrying the banner of participatory democracy forward -- but all ages are welcome. We're also seeking to develop a generational consensus as to how to fix our political system and take America forward. If we have our druthers, many of those 50% of kids who support Bush will to see the light.
We don't have a mass-media advertising budget, though we are starting to get a little press coverage. The point is we're counting on word of mouth and the newly energized base to get this off the ground. We've got more than 50 shows all over the country in the next two weeks, and there's something for everyone.
Volunteers get in free, plus you score a t-shirt and the priceless sense that they've done something to help correct the course of the nation. Check it out and tell your friends:
