Today's results in the TX-28 primary are disappointing to say the least. With all that money and all that ground support going against him, Cuellar seems to have this in the bag. What happened? What kind of Democratic voters live in this district? Was there a surge in Democratic registrations just prior to this election? Was the Cuellar campaign involved in efforts to taint a Democratic party by getting Republicans to temporarily register as Democrats? Or worse, did the Cuellar campaign get people outside the district to register in the 28th CD? Is this really a Democratic district? With Democratic voters like this, who needs Republicans? Why can't we turn out our voters? Is there someting fundamentally flawed with our turnout model? Even with early voting people we can't seem to get enough people to the polls! What happened? We need to learn how Cuellar won!
If Cuellar won't switch his party affiliation, why can't we find a way to apply some pressure on him? Obviously talking to is donors won't work. One of the unions came up with the idea of 'blacklisting' all of Cuellar's campaign staff. That is a brilliant idea. Anyone who works for this turncoat is a traitor to the party and the ideals we cherish. Why can't we seem to pressure his staff to quit or risk losing all their oter Democratic clients? If I knew who else this clown's consultants worked for I'd make it a point to vote them out if I had the chance (and that include presidential candidates). Come to think of it, the next time te DCCC calls I'll make it known that I won't give them any money until they find a way to rid the party of Cuellar and his staff! I doubt my compaints will have any effect, but I'll do it any way.
